Candle Care
Proper candle care ensures your candles burn cleanly and evenly while extending their lifespan. Here are some tips for caring for your candles:
- Trim the Wick: Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to 1/4 inch. This will help to prevent smoking and uneven burning. If the wick is too long while burning, extinguish the candle, trim it, and relight it.
- Burn Time: Burn your candle for at least 1 hour for each inch of diameter to allow the wax to melt evenly across the candle’s surface. Avoid burning candles for longer than 4 hours at a time, as this can cause the wick to become too long and may lead to smoking and uneven burning.
- Avoid Drafts: Keep candles away from drafts, which can cause uneven burning and smoking. Be sure to burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface and keep them out of reach of children and pets.
- Extinguish Safely: Always extinguish candles before leaving the room or going to sleep. To extinguish, use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Never use water to extinguish a candle.
- Store Properly: Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. This will help to prevent melting and warping.
By following these simple tips, you can help ensure that your candles burn cleanly and safely while enjoying their beautiful fragrance and ambiance.
